De’Longhi descale light stays on: check rinse and completion stages

For La Specialista EC9355, EC9155, EC9255 and EC9335, check final rinses and completion actions before adding more descaler when the light remains after descaling.

Identify an after-completion warning

Record full model and the manual followed. Failure to start, no water flow, and a remaining light after completion are different support cases.

Use the model-specific final action

De’Longhi’s FAQ calls for a water-only repeat after descaler has acted, with MAX fills for the last two rinses. Those four models also need a final one-click turn towards a coffee drink.

Record the completed stages

Record whether each machine-required stage finished. Do not apply another model’s buttons or dial procedure; use the matching manual and official support.

Do not improvise a light reset

Check omitted stages against the model procedure. If correctly completed but the light persists, send the stage log to De’Longhi. Avoid hot-water contact and internal disassembly.

A worked example

Hypothetical case: descaling finished but the last rinse tank was filled below MAX. Before repeating with more chemical, check the model FAQ’s water-rinse completion procedure and record the missed stage.
