What to check first

The Breville BTA735 manual requires disconnection, cooling and tray replacement before reuse. Removal direction varies by model.

A worksheet you can use

Sticky filling spills are different from dry crumbs. Use this record to decide whether the task is within normal user maintenance.

ItemWhat to record
ModelUnderside label
TrayLocation and removal direction
DebrisDry crumbs or sticky spill
DamageCord, plug or internal distortion

Check in this order

  1. Unplug and allow complete cooling
  2. Remove the tray as instructed and empty crumbs
  3. Use only permitted cleaning methods, then dry and refit before use

If the problem remains

Do not force a stuck tray. Melted plastic, oil spills, damage or continuing burning smells require stopping use and asking the maker. Do not dismantle the housing.

A worked example

Example: dry crumbs in the tray call for emptying and correct refitting. Jam inside the appliance is not resolved merely by the same step.
